Children's Opera

Everyone is welcome to attend a free public performance of the 2017 children’s opera "There’s a Martian in the Opera House," at 6 p.m. May 19 in the Dr. Lakireddy Auditorium.

The annual children's opera is a popular event, directed this year by Professor Katherine Brokaw, with musical direction by Darrel Lingenfelter, and starring Jenni Samuelson, Katie Knudson, Christian Cabral, Uriah Brown and TaNayiah Bryels.

Parking is free for the event, too, though suggested donations at the door are $3 for children and $5 for adults.

The event is sponsored by the Merced County Office of Education, Arts UC Merced Presents, the Office of the Chancellor, UC Merced's Center for the Humanities, the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts, and the Betty Scalice Foundation.
