Decolonial Expert to Deliver Public Talk

Duke University Professor Walter Mignolo, a leading voice in decolonial theory, will be giving a free public lecture at UC Merced.

The talk, "The Humanities and the Current World (Dis)order," begins at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in the California Room.

Walter D. Mignolo is an Argentine semiotician who has published extensively on semiotics and literary theory, and worked on different aspects of the modern and colonial world, exploring concepts such as global coloniality, the geopolitics of knowledge, transmodernity, border thinking and pluriversality.
