2015 Security and Fire Safety Reports Now Available

October 5, 2016

UC Merced is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all members of the campus community. Annually, the UC Merced Police Department provides students, staff and faculty members and the community with information regarding campus security, fire safety, crime statistics and alcohol- and drug-abuse prevention.

The campus’s 2015 Annual Security Report is now available online.

As required under the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act, the report contains statistics from the previous three years about crimes that were reported to local police agencies or other designated campus security authorities, including housing staff members and judicial affairs and faculty advisors for student organizations.

The Clery Act requires the following types of crimes that might have occurred on campus, in certain off-campus buildings leased by UC Merced, or on public property immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus to be reported.

  • Criminal homicide
  • Sex offenses
  • Aggravated assault
  • Robbery
  • Burglary
  • Motor vehicle theft
  • Arson
  • Stalking
  • Domestic violence
  • Dating violence
  • Hate crimes
  • Liquor, drug and weapons arrests and referrals

The campus's 2015 Annual Housing Fire Safety Report is also available online. This report is compiled by UC Merced’s Fire and Building Safety. It is intended to disseminate important fire statistics and campus fire safety information for on-campus housing.
