Affordable Care Act Changes in 2016
New Affordable Care Act (ACA) regulations, effective Jan. 1, introduced changes that apply to all UC employees.
New provisions will make it easier for employees to maintain their UC coverage, or they may be among the roughly 5,000 employees who are newly eligible for the core benefits package, which includes the UC-paid Core medical plan.
Under a separate part of the ACA, employees and their medical coverage providers are now required to report to the Internal Revenue Service confirming that they had minimum essential medical coverage for themselves and their dependents during 2015.
