UCPath Center executive team named; general recruitment now open

Staffing of the UCPath shared-services center in Riverside is well under way. James “Jim” Leedy has been appointed as the center’s executive director. Before his appointment, Leedy most recently served as worldwide director of finance at Tanberg Data Corporation, and his experience includes 18 years at Hewlett Packard where he managed a shared-services organization that has direct applicability to the UCPath Center. Leedy will work in Oakland alongside Gayelea Allison and Bryant Bailess as the third member of the UCPath Center executive team until the center opens. Allison and Bailess joined UCPath project this fall as operations director and customer service director, respectively.

With the executive team members in place, general recruitment for the center is now open and applications are being accepted. UCPath center career opportunities can be found on the UC systemwide job board. The university expects to fill 156 positions by April 2013, and up to 500 more positions by October 2014, when the center is fully operational.

Priority consideration will be given to current UC employees. Applicant screening and job offers will be made before interviewing external applicants. The recruitment period for managerial, technical and executive support positions closes Dec. 21, 2012. For all other positions, the recruitment period closes Jan. 18, 2013.
