Campus Adds SACNAS Chapter

UC Merced was recently approved for the 100th chapter of the national nonprofit organization Society for Advancement of Hispanics/Chicanos & Native Americans in Science (SACNAS).
The organization provides year-round, local support and leadership development for students and professional scientists from underrepresented backgrounds. Chapter members are encouraged to share information, resources, and peer-to-peer mentorship, as well as to give back to their communities, develop leadership skills, and participate in SACNAS programming including the SACNAS National Conference.
The local chapter has 39 members.
