Financial Management Program Completes 2nd Year
Cohort Completes Financial Management Training
The UC Merced Financial Management Certification Program (FMCP) has completed its second year of financial management training for campus business and administrative officers.
The FMCP supports the professional development of campus employees and promotes ethical management of campus financial resources by offering a full year of comprehensive training built on financial, compliance and administrative concepts introduced in the UC Business Officer Institute.
The program launched in 2013 with an inaugural cohort of staff members from a variety of campus units. In 2014, the program expanded its elective offerings to include courses on internal audit and ledger review.
To date, 35 staff members have completed the FMCP and 26 have completed the Risk Management Certification Program (RMCP), a companion certification that focuses on fostering quality risk assessment skills and teaches participants concepts related to minimizing and preventing loss and managing risk.
Want to be a part of the 2015 FMCP cohort? Nominations will be accepted from Jan. 12 to 30, with courses expected to begin in March.
For detailed information about the program, including nomination requirements and course offerings, please visit the Financial Management Certification Program page on the Controls website.
