Governor Names Quintero to Water Commission
Armando Quintero was appointed to the California Water Commission this summer, the governor's office announced.
Quintero, the director of Development for the Sierra Nevada Research Institute since 2008, worked as an independent environmental educator and held multiple positions at the U.S. National Park Service before joining UC Merced.
He served as a district ranger and chief of the special park uses group at Golden Gate National Recreation Area; personnel staffing specialist, park ranger and supervisory park ranger at the Point Reyes National Seashore; and park ranger at the Sequoia National Park and at the John Muir National Historic Site.
He is also the president of the Marin Municipal Water District Board of Directors and is a member of the Los Cenzontles Mexican Arts Center Board of Directors.
