New Employee Orientation

New employee orientation is from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, in KL 362.
All newly hired faculty and staff are encouraged to attend. Registration is preferred, but walk-ins are accepted. This orientation is not for student employees. To register or for more information, visit the new employee orientation webpage.

December Training Schedule

Human Resources’ Professional and Organizational Development unit offers various training sessions, including courses for the supervisory certificate program, Professional Learning Academy and desktop applications. People can now register for the following courses:

  • Dec.   5 – Conducting Effective Meetings (supervisory certificate program elective)
  • Dec.   6 – Microsoft Excel 2010 - Advanced (desktop application class)
  • Dec. 12 – Team Building (Professional Learning Academy)
  • Dec. 18 – Sexual Harassment Prevention – A Live Theater Performance (satisfies AB 1825)

For additional information and to register:

  1. Log in to the UC Learning Center using your UC Merced Net ID.
  2. Search for training by name in the search bar on the left of your screen.
  3. Select the course you are interested in, click register to see offerings, schedule and location details.
  4. Check the box next to the class that fits your needs and click submit to register.

Campus Closure 2012-13

UC Merced will officially close for nine days from Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, to Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013. Visit the Human Resources site for detailed information on the campus closure.
