Library Adds More Resources, Part of Pilot Program

WhoPlus Database

The WhoPlus database is available at UC Merced. WhoPlus provides biographical information in Japanese for 330,000 prominent figures in Japan. Users can access WhoPlus by clicking on the データベース検索 button in the top right corner and selecting “WhoPlus.”

Pilot Program to Acquire Japanese e-Books

UC Merced Library, along with eight other UC campuses, is participating in a pilot program to collect Japanese language e-books. Titles will be discoverable in Melvyl and be purchased based on usage information. Any titles acquired by a single campus will be made available to all participating campuses. New Web of Knowledge Content

New content has been added to UC’s World of Knowledge subscription.

This content includes:

  • Book Citation Index (2005 to present)
  • Conference Proceedings Citation Index (1990 to present)
  • Current Contents Connect (1998 to present)
  • Current Chemical Reactions (1985 to present)
  • Data Citation Index (1900 to present)
  • Derwent Innovations Index (1993 to present)
  • Index Chemicus (1993 to present)

Searching by Data Citation Index, for instance, allows users to more easily find data sets and studies on a variety of topics.

This added content can be accessed on the World of Knowledge interface by selecting the orange drop-down arrow in the search bar next to All Databases.
