Professional Learning Academy Accepting Applicants

The Professional Learning Academy (also known as Customer Service Academy) provides training in key areas of customer service and equips participants with skills that can be applied in their work areas.

Registration for 2016-17 academy classes is open and courses are free for UC Merced faculty and staff members. Participants who take all courses in the series earn a certificate of achievement. The remaining courses scheduled for the 2016-17 academic year include:

  • Nov. 8 – Customer Service
  • Dec.  13 – Team Building
  • Jan. 10 - Attitude in the Workplace
  • Feb.  14 – Values and Ethics
  • March 14 – Stress Management
  • April 11 – Time Management
  • May 9 – Conflict Resolution
  • June 13 – Decision Making and Problem Solving
  • July 11 – Managing Organizational Change

To register for one or more classes individually, follow these instructions:

  1. Log in to the UC Learning Center using your UC Merced Net ID.
  2. Search for the individual classes you need by typing the keyword “WLRC” in the search bar on the left of your screen.
  3. Select the class you are interested in, click “register” to see offerings, schedule and location details.
  4. Click “submit” to register for the class.
