Professor Delivers Lecture on Guest Workers at Smithsonian Exhibit

UC Merced history Professor Mario Sifuentez delivered a lecture Feb. 18 at the University of Alabama to kickoff the opening of “Bittersweet Harvest: The Bracero Program 1942-1964.”

The traveling Smithsonian exhibit tells the story of the largest guest worker program in U.S. history. It will be at the University of the Pacific in Stockton from Aug. 17 to Oct. 27.

Sifuentez, one of the exhibit's creators, lectured on “History, Public Memory, and Creating the Bracero Archive.”
