January 31, 2013

"Inventions," a book highlighting UC Merced's cutting-edge research, and "This is UC Merced," a dynamic two-and-a-half minute video about campus, both earned awards this year from District VII of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education.

Both the book (PDF) and video were produced by University Communications.

"Inventions," which earned the bronze award for Excellence in Design - Multipage Publications/Folders, was produced by Principal Graphic Artist Jennifer Biancucci, for the Office of Research, which shares it with potential investors and entrepreneurs looking to take UC Merced's new knowledge to market.

The video, which earned silver for Video Recruitment Features, was produced by Assistant Video Producer Marshall Byrne and Multimedia Video Producer Jason Ryder. Garnering more than 10,000 views so far on YouTube, it has been used to attract and recruit students and raise the campus's visibility.
