Academic Senate Welcomes New Executive Director

There’s a new face in UC Merced’s Academic Senate office.

Dejeuné Shelton joined the office on April 1 as its new executive director. Her name and face may be familiar to some campus community members who recall her four-year tenure at the Great Valley Center in Modesto, first as the center’s senior program manager and later as executive director.

“I’m pleased to join the Senate office during this critical time of UC Merced’s ongoing development,” Shelton said. “I look forward to working with our talented faculty and staff to promote a culture of shared governance and meeting our goal of excellence in research, teaching and public service. “
