UFC Lunch: 'Encounters with Himalayan Vampires and Other Tales from the Field'

University Friends Circle (UFC) meets from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 7 at the Branding Iron Restaurant, 640 W. 16th St., Merced.

School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts Professor Mark Aldenderfer has returned from sabbatical and will present some research findings and stories from the Himalayas, including his studies of ancient cave burial sites high in the remote mountains, in a talk entitled "Encounters with Himalayan Vampires and Other Tales from the Field." 

Admission is $20 for members and $25 for guests. For information on joining the UFC or to RSVP, email ufc@ucmerced.edu. Reservation deadline is noon Thursday, March 2.

UFC encourages people from UC Merced and surrounding communities to join the organization.
