Call for Nominations for Staff Excellence Awards Shifts to June

UC Merced Staff Assembly will seek nominations for its 2016 Staff Citation of Excellence Award program in June.
Each year, five UC Merced staff members are recognized and celebrated for their outstanding service to the university. The timing of the awards is shifting so award recipients can be honored during Chancellor Dorothy Leland’s Staff Convocation in August. Staff Excellence Award winners were previously announced during the Staff Appreciation Week picnic, toward the end of the event as festivities wrapped up.
“The end of the spring semester, when nominations were due in the past, is an extremely busy time for many staff members,” Staff Assembly President Pam Taylor said. “Changing the timing gives staff members more time to nominate their peers for the dedicated service they provide at UC Merced.”
Staff Assembly encourages everyone on campus to nominate and/or endorse a staff member who goes above and beyond in their service. Be on the lookout for details in the coming weeks.
