Campus Wins CASE Awards for Video, Web Projects

March 2, 2016

UC Merced staff members developed projects that recently earned two District VII Awards of Excellence from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

CASE supports alumni relations, communications, development and marketing professionals at educational institutions worldwide. District VII represents professionals and institutions in the western region of the United States — Arizona, California, Guam, Hawaii, Nevada, Northern Mariana Islands and Utah — and includes every size and type of institution.

University Communications won a silver award in the category of Recruitment Videos for “Discover UC Merced: Eduardo Rojas-Flores Charts His Course.” The video profiles Rojas-Flores, a first-generation student who worked hard to overcome his initial struggles on campus and has now set himself on a path to a bright future.

Development and Alumni Relations also won a silver award, in the category of Digital Communications: Innovative Use of Technology, for the launch of the new giving.ucmerced.edu website. The project, led by the division’s Development Services unit, was designed to better engage and serve the greater campus community by integrating giving, events management and e-communications under a single platform.

This marks the fourth consecutive year in which UC Merced has been recognized in the CASE District VII Awards of Excellence.
