Supervisory Certificate Program Starts March 18

Classes for the Supervisory Certificate Program are open for registration at the UC Learning Center. This program enhances skill development in critical thinking, delegating, coaching, setting expectations, communications, organizational awareness, team leadership and human resources management. The program encourages developmental communications between participants and managers to facilitate transfer of learning. For information, email hrtraining@ucmerced.edu or call 209-228-8247.

Management Development Program Deadline Nears

Nominations are now being accepted for cycle two of the Management Development Program. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. March 27. The UC Management Development Program is a systemwide initiative designed to strengthen leadership capabilities in the following UC Core Competency areas: people management, employee management, influence and change management. This energizing program is relevant to the demands facing university managers and benefits managers who manage other managers, supervisors and leaders of complex programs or projects. CAMP Registration Starts April 17

Beginning April 17, applications will be accepted for the Career Advancement Mentorship Program (CAMP) for staff. The CAMP matches experienced staff members with colleagues who seek mentoring and professional development. The program starts July 1 and runs through June 30, 2016. People interested in becoming mentors or mentees can apply online for the program. Applications are due by noon May 29.

  • April 28: Crucial Conversations – Session Two
  • April 29: Delegating for Success and Accountability

To register:

  1. Log in to the UC Learning Center using your UC Merced Net ID.
  2. Search for training by name in the search bar on the left of your screen.
  3. Select the course you are interested in, and click “Register” to see offerings, schedule and location details.
  4. Check the box next to the class that fits your needs and click “Submit” to register.

New Employee Orientation, Resources

The next new employee orientation is from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 3 in the Chancellor's Conference Room (KL 232). For information, visit the new employee orientation webpage.
