Citizen Police Academy Fall 2013 Graduates

November 18, 2013

The Department of Public Safety recognized its Fall 2013 Citizen Police Academy graduating class earlier this month.

Seven campus community members – Ana Albarran, Alyssa Burgess, Meena Dhonchak, Massiel Garcia, Blandette Hobson, Valeria Jimenez, Reginald Johnson and Pam Slabaugh – spent 10 weeks training on topics including drugs, gangs, identity theft, community policing and more.

The goal of the program, which began in September 2008, is to teach the campus community about law enforcement and community service. Participants have the opportunity to network with police officers, Department of Public Safety staff members and fellow classmates.

To date, more than 120 students, staff members and faculty members have completed the program.
