EH&S Launches New Injury and Illness Prevention Program

UC Merced’s Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) department is pleased to announce a new injury and illnesses prevention program, with training courses that start in May and continue through July. All classes are held in the Acorn Room (KL 159) and each course lasts two hours.

The training is designed for non-Facilities employees and those who do not work in the campus’ science laboratories. The training covers the following topics:

  • Injury and illness prevention
  • Hazard reporting
  • General campus safety rules
  • Emergency response to fire, flood and other events
  • Ergonomics for office workers
  • Basic back safety
  • Fire prevention

EH&S encourages all UC Merced employees — regardless of their levels or job descriptions — to sign up for these informative and comprehensive courses. Register to attend via the UC Learning Center (Learning Management System) for the following sessions:

  • 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 7
  • 10 a.m. to noon June 11
  • 1-3 p.m. July 9
