Open Enrollment Starts Oct. 28

Open Enrollment begins Oct. 28 and continues through Nov. 26. The UC is offering a revamped menu of medical plans for 2014 and the Office of the President has posted initial information about the changes on the At Your Service website.

Two new plans will be available, Blue Shield Health Savings Plan, which features a UC-funded health savings account; and UC Care, UC's own PPO plan that offers members access to UC doctors and hospitals. Four current plans — Anthem Blue Cross PPO and PLUS, Anthem Lumenos with HRA and Health Net Full HMO — are being discontinued. Some details, such as premium costs and a list of physicians participating in the new plans, is not yet available. However, employees will be informed and updated as additional information is released. Meanwhile, plan on attending UC Merced’s Open Enrollment Benefits Fair for faculty and staff members on Nov. 18.
