Last Chance to Volunteer for Commencement 2013

April 19, 2013

Today (April 26) is the last day to sign up as a 2013 Commencement volunteer. Two ceremonies will be held May 18 and 19 to honor the campus’s largest class of graduates, and volunteers are still needed to assist with the event on May 19. Prospective volunteers must submit an online form and are required to attend one of two informational meetings, from 9 to 10 a.m. May 8 or from 1 to 2 p.m. May 9. Both meetings will be held in KL 232. Those who volunteer will receive two commencement tickets plus one parking pass. Anyone planning to attend a commencement ceremony must have a ticket for admission into the Bowl.

Volunteers are needed for the following duties:

  • Canal Watch: Stand along canal and ensure unticketed people do not try to get in (per police request)
  • Guest services: Assist candidates/guests with special needs, serve as a resource for guests with general questions
  • Ushers: Check tickets, distribute programs, usher guests to seats, assist with crowd control
