New Employee Orientation: Jan. 9

December 17, 2014

New employees can kick off the new year by attending new employee orientation from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, in KL 232. For more information, visit the New Employee Orientation webpage.

The first few weeks in a new job can be challenging. To ease the stress of settling in, Human Resources has compiled a list of resources to assist new employees in acclimating to the university. Whether you are new to UC Merced or in a position of supervising others, you will find value in this tool.

Deadline Extended for Policy Feedback

The University of California is proposing revisions to Staff Policy 30 – Compensation, which applies to staff employees in the professional and support staff and managers and senior professionals personnel groups.

The revisions are intended to incorporate current compensation-related policies — PPSM 30-Salary, PPSM 31-Hours of Work, PPSM 32-Overtime (non-exempt employees only) and PPSM 33-Shift and Weekend Differential (non-exempt employees only) — and delegations of authority into one document, as well as align the policy with the Career Tracks initiative.

Please submit feedback to hr@ucmerced.edu by noon Jan. 7.
