Training Workshops in September

Human Resource’s Professional and Organizational Development unit offers various training sessions, including courses for the supervisory certificate program. Remaining courses scheduled in September are:

  • Sept. 18 – Performance Evaluations at UC Merced (HR Additional Training)
  • Sept. 20 – Understanding Behavioral Styles and Team Effectiveness (HR Additional Training, elective for Supervisory Certificate Program)
  • Sept. 25 – Conducting Performance Appraisals (Supervisory Certificate Program)

To register or for additional information:

  1. Log in to the UC Learning Center using your UC Merced Net ID.
  2. Search for the class by entering the applicable keyword in the UC Learning Center search bar on the left of your screen.
  3. Select the course(s) you are interested in, click “register,” check the box next to the class and session that fits your schedule and click “submit.”

New Employee Orientation and Resources

New UC Merced employees: come familiarize yourself with the university and the many resources available to staff and faculty by attending new employee orientation. Orientation is held on the first Friday of each month and the next is scheduled on Oct. 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Kolligian Library, Room 232. Newly hired staff and faculty and encouraged to attend. Registration is preferred but walk-ins are accepted. To view a list of upcoming orientation dates or for additional information, click here.

The first few weeks in a new job can be challenging. To ease the stress of settling in, Human Resources compiled a list of resources to assist new employees in becoming acclimated to the university. Whether you are new to UC Merced or in a position of supervising others, you will find value in this tool.
