Computer users put a lot of work into creating their electronic files, so it’s important to back them up.
Backing up files to a local drive is important, but if something such as a fire or flood happens, the data and backups are gone. That is why online backup services are great: They keep your data off-site.
UC Merced’s Information Technology offers CrashPlan PROe, a backup application that protects your files and folders in real time. The tool is free to current faculty and staff members for their personal or business use. Learn more about CrashPlan PROe on the IT website.
