Nomination Period Open for Financial Management Certification Program

January 14, 2016

Nominations are now being accepted for UC Merced’s Financial Management Certification Program (FMCP), which begins in March.

The program facilitates the professional development of business officers and promotes ethical management of the campus’s financial resources. The program consists of mandatory and elective classes in topic areas that are critical to successful financial management.

Upon completing the program, participants are expected to have:

  • a deeper understanding of administrative responsibilities and their importance;
  • an increased knowledge base and more diverse skill set to tackle complex university problems; and
  • an opportunity to develop relationships and improve collaborations and processes across university functions.

Participation in FMCP requires a completed nomination form that includes a brief description of the nominee’s current job duties, indication that the nominee’s supervisor approves of his or her participation, and a description of the nominee’s career goals and how he or she will benefit from the program.

People interested in the FMCP are encouraged to review the eligibility requirements and nomination process on the Financial Management Certification Program webpage. Self-nominations are welcome and should be submitted via a self-nomination form, which is due by 5 p.m. Feb. 12. Nominees accepted for the program will be notified via email by the end of February.

Detailed information regarding the program is posted online. For information, email Christine Tumonong.
