Physiologist Recognized by American Heart Association as Fellow

Physiology Professor Rudy Ortiz has been recognized as a Fellow of the American Heart Association, an organization devoted to saving lives through research, education and outreach in heart disease and stroke.

Ortiz is studying the ways obesity contributes to associated co-morbidities of heart and kidney diseases, insulin resistance and other related metabolic disorders.

The honor recognizes Ortiz's scientific and professional accomplishments and volunteer leadership and service. The American Heart Association is one of the world’s most eminent organizations of cardiovascular and stroke professionals.
