Plan to Stay in Business with UC Ready

September 11, 2013

September is National Preparedness Month, and UC Merced is observing it by helping the campus community prepare for emergencies and disasters of all types. Preparedness includes developing business continuity plans.

A business continuity plan ensures your department or unit has a prescribed process for responding to sudden emergencies and for reestablishing essential functions during or after adverse operating conditions. Having a business continuity plan in place can help protect your department, lab, employees and infrastructure, and maximizes your unit’s chances of recovery after an emergency or disaster. Departments with plans in place should review them routinely to be better prepared to fulfill their roles during the recovery process.
