Registration Opens for Mentorship Program

CAMP Registration Starts Today

Applications are now being accepted for a new mentorship program for staff. The Career Advancement Mentorship Program (CAMP) will match experienced staff members with colleagues who seek mentoring and professional development. The program launches on July 1 and runs through June 30, 2015. Staff interested in becoming a mentor or mentee can apply for the program online. Applications are due by noon on May 16.

Fidelity Investments Workshops on Campus April 24

Fidelity Investments will be at UC Merced on April 24 in KL 397 to teach the following classes:

  • Understanding the Power of Debt 11:30 a.m
  • Your UC Retirement System, 12:30 p.m.
  • Accessing your Account, 1:30 p.m.

To register:

  1. Log in to the UC Learning Center using your UC Merced Net ID.
  1. Search for training by name in the search bar on the left of your screen.

  2. Select the course you are interested in, click “register” to see offerings, schedule and location details.

  3. Check the box next to the class that fits your needs and click “submit” to register.

New Employee Orientation, Resources

The next new employee orientation is from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 2 in Room 211 of the Student Activities and Athletic Center. For more information, visit the new employee orientation webpage.

The first few weeks in a new job can be challenging. To ease the stress of settling in, Human Resources has compiled a list of resources to assist new employees in acclimating to the university. Whether you are new to UC Merced or in a position of supervising others, you will find value in this tool.

Update: Systemwide Learning Management System

Cross-functional work group has formed to gather requirements and evaluate vendors during a Request for Proposal (RPF) process for a systemwide Learning Management System (LMS). The LMS will continue to provide learning and development opportunities for staff and faculty, while also adding limited compliance training for students and other non-employees.
