Streaming Service Demonstration at next Share IT, Feb. 27

Come learn about UC Merced's new capture and streaming service CatCast at the next Share IT presentation from 1 to 2 p.m. Feb. 27 in KL 232.

The CatCast service provides the ability to capture the audio, video and media content of a lecture or event and make it available for on-demand viewing or streaming on the Internet. Live broadcasting is also possible and is available upon request. Please note: CatCast service is only available for lectures and events held in Lakireddy Auditorium.

IT will demonstrate the service, discuss its capabilities and talk about the current availability as well as the department’s future plans for expanding the service.

Share IT is an opportunity for IT to share and provide updates on a variety of topics that affect our campus, showcase new and upcoming technologies and tools, discuss projects in progress, service improvement, strategies and more.

Software Upgrade to Affect Login Access Feb. 22

On Feb. 22 from 10 p.m. until midnight, Information Technology will upgrade key software that handles login authentication for select services hosted offsite. During this outage, log-in access will not be available for the services listed below. Some of these services are in the MyUCMerced portal and will also be unavailable during the outage:
