University Friends Circle Recognized for Service, Philanthropy

The Merced County Board of Supervisors recently honored the University Friends Circle (UFC), calling members outstanding volunteers. Eight individuals and four groups, including the UFC, were chosen for the 2017 Merced County Volunteer Recognition Program by the Volunteer Advisory Committee.

The UFC, a philanthropic group that supports UC Merced’s mission of teaching, research and public service, focuses on building strong relationships between the campus community and surrounding communities through service programs and fundraising. The group has raised more than $360,000 for scholarships and awards since 2009.
