Create a Smoke and Tobacco Free Slogan for a Chance at Winning $50

Unleash your inner wordsmith and show your support for UC Merced as the campus prepares to become a smoke- and tobacco-free environment starting in the new year. Students, faculty members and staff members are invited to participate in a contest to create a slogan that promotes the systemwide tobacco and smoke free policy that goes into effect at all UC campuses and property on Jan. 1, 2014. The top three entries will each receive a $50 gift certificate to the Campus Bookstore. Here’s how to participate:

• Come up with a slogan.
• Submit your entry at smokefree.ucmerced.edu/form/slogan-contest by 5 p.m. on Oct. 15.
• Vote for your three favorite slogans Oct. 21-25. Voting will be done online and a link to vote will be posted on the smoke-and-tobacco-free website, social media and distributed via Happenings.

The winning slogan will be revealed Nov. 21 during the campus’s Great American Smokeout event.
