Faculty Members Recognized During Convocation
A key measure of a university’s excellence is the quality of its faculty and their scholarly achievements. During last month’s Faculty Convocation, campus leadership recognized UC Merced faculty members who earned advancement, promotion or tenure, and continuing lecturer awards during the 2015-16 academic year.
To earn tenure, faculty members must go through a complex and thorough review procedure and are evaluated on criteria that include teaching, research, creative work, professional competence and activity, and public service.
Lecturers eligible for a continuing award also go through a complex and thorough review procedure and are evaluated on criteria that include excellence in teaching and continued professional competence development.
